Embarrassing Mom

By embarrassing mom I mean myself. I am already embarrassing my daughter, not that she knows it yet. Today we went to Target and I got a pumpkin spice latte {YUM} I went to swipe my card and it didn't work. So I tried to call Caleb...he didn't answer....I checked our online banking and we had plenty of money in there.....I tried calling Jets to get a hold of Caleb and he wasn't there....then the sweet employee at Starbucks bought my latte for me!! I started bawling right away. It was just the sweetest gesture to me. It meant so so so much to me that she did that. Their was no line so she wasn't doing it just to get me out of there. Caleb finally had the chance to answer the phone as I was walking away from the counter thanking this woman in my ugly, squeaking, crying voice. AND I got to walk through Target with tears running down my face trying to stop my pregnant sobbing. If only Laney really knew what was happening she would have been very embarrassed of her over emotional mom :p I gave her lots of kisses to make up for my weirdness.

What I really want to say is more people need to be like that woman! She seriously made my night! My card did end up working I don't know why it didn't work there maybe human error ;)

Let me clarify Caleb was at work so he couldn't answer the phone I am not blaming my mishap on him I just wanted you to get an idea of how long it took me:)

After we left Target Laney and I went to the Hamilton Town Center to go to the candy store!!!

Im back for good!!

I miss this blog! I hate that I havent blogged in so long:( I think about it everyday. We just got our computer fixed so know I can start writing again! I was determined to write today and then my friend Jennifer texted me and said she missed the  blog! It was the perfect kick in the butt to start writing again. Jennifer and I used to be neighbors and now we live 30 mins or more away which really isnt that bad but I am used to seeing her almost everyday! This way she can keep up with what is going on with me:)

I am sure all of you know since all of my readers are my facebook friends buuuuuuut.......

My baby is going to be a big sister!!!!! {shirt made by me}

We are so so happy!! I will be 12 weeks on Wednesday and we are due April 3!
We were going to wait until this Wednesday to tell the news but we were too excited! Weeks 6-10 were not fun. I felt awful all the time. I never got sick I just felt like I had the worst hangover of my life. I have started talking naps when Laney does which I wish I didnt have to but I would crash at 4:00 pm if I didnt:/ I dont have any "cravings" yet, but I do enjoy sourish foods. Like salt and vinigar chips and sauerkraut. I loved sour stuff with Laney too I ate sauerkraut out of the jar with Lane! Gross I know:p I havent gained any weight yet although I feel like it! Laney doesnt really understand what is going on yet, I cant wait for her to have a sibling!

Laney is doing wonderful:) She is the sweetest girl I know! Her imagination is growing and she loves to play with me and Caleb:) She loves to read and play hide and seek. I could listen to that girl talk all day she says the funniest stuff! She is very serious too, she likes to bandage my "wings" and listen to my heart with her heartscope:) I cant think of what she sould be for Halloween though! I ask her all the time and she just giggles at my suggestions and says they are silly :p We are still working on potty training, she is not fond of the potty:/ but we will get there slowly but surely.

Well I am off to watch some TV until my man gets home:)

Daddy's girl

Laney could not be MORE like her dad and LESS like me in the music department. She has always loved any toys with music and she loves listening to music on our phones. The other night we were driving home and she asked for my phone and started listening to my music. I looked in the mirror and she was just looking out the window, I asked her what she was thinking about and she said "nothing just listening to music" eeeeee I was giggling to myself it was so sweet! We usually watch a show before bed and she just wanted to listen to music! It's unbelievable how she has the same interests as Caleb and I without influencing her. Caleb has always been really big into music and me not so much! I was a gymnast when I was a little girl, I usually didn't walk anywhere it was cartwheels or somersaults. No joke! Laney just found out that she can swing from things like she is on a bar. She loves flipping and "doing" handstands:) we are signing up for mommy and me gymnastics soon! I can't wait it will be at the gym that I used to go to:) She has also become really interested in singing:) I love it she will sing for anyone, it makes me so proud because she used to be such a shy girl.

Laney Marie,

You are the sweetest baby this momma could have asked for. You love me and daddy so much! We love YOU even more! You have really been coming out of your shell and warming up to people a lot faster. Your imagination is incredible, I love watching you pretend to be an animal rescuer and give me all the facts about animals. You love to swim, and ride your "motercycle". I could go on and on about all of the wonderful things you do! You truly are an incredible little girl:)

It has been a rough couple of weeks. On April 24 we gave Heidi to a new family. It was really really hard on us but we were not being good pet owners. She was not potty trained and it was not something I could do right now. I am trying so hard to be the best wife and mom and trying to train a dog too was just too much.

On April 29 Calebs great grandmother passed away. We went up to Michigan to see her on the 24th and came home the 26th. It was unexpected. She was one of my favorite people. Her name was Magdalena and while I was pregnant I found out that she went by Laney and right when Caleb and I heard that we knew that is what we wanted to name our baby girl. She was 85 years old and quick as a whip. She had the best sense of humor and loved her family SO much! Every time she would come down to Indiana she would tell me all about her granddaughters kids, she loved telling me all about them.


On May 4th Calebs friend Evan Poteet passed away. They went to high school together and he has worked at Jets since they opened. I am so incredibly sad, I am trying my best to help Caleb and help him grieve. Caleb has been raising money at Jets for Evans family. I don't even know what to say.......my heart hurts so badly for his family. I cant even imagine the pain they are going through. I am at a loss of words. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.

its been a long time

Since I posted....

So much has been going on! We have been here for over two weeks now and we love it! There is a lot to get used to, like we have forgotten to take the trash out both times it has come :p We also set up recycling which I LOVE expect that they gave me one of those old tiny recycling bins....that is going to last me a week and they only come every other week.I want to paint and decorate everything, but it is a slow process since its pretty pricey.

We did paint Laney's room right away I will post pictures of that later, she is sleeping right now so I cant take any!

I have been doing some little inexpensive changes. I really wanted a table for Laney, she is really into writing and coloring. She has a few notebooks that she carries around and writes in. Lately she has been making baby signs and mommy and daddy signs. I have NO idea where that came from :) She also draws castles, cirlcles, rectangles and triangles hehe not really but she says she is drawing them:p So I took a side table that was too small to go next to our bed now that we have it up on a frame and painted it for Lane!

Finished product! The paint color is Summer Haze by Martha Stewart. I love pink but I didn't want another piece of pink furniture:) Now I have to repaint the chairs, I haven't decided exactly what I want to do to them yet.
